Saurabh Kumar: "Great companies can be built from small villages"
The SAATHAPP founder on building hyperlocal technology from Nalanda, Bihar — and his mission to empower Bharat.

Saurabh Kumar is the Founder & CEO of SAATHAPPNOVA PRIVATE LIMITED, based in Nalanda, Bihar. His journey started with a vision to bring technology, commerce, and opportunities closer to people in villages and small towns. Coming from a rural background, he saw local businesses and service providers struggling to access digital growth — and that inspired him to build SAATHAPP, a hyperlocal platform connecting customers, businesses, delivery partners, and service professionals.
His mission is simple: **"Building Solutions. Empowering Bharat."**
"I believe great companies can be built from small villages," he says, "and I am working to create opportunities, jobs, and long-term impact through technology."
Please introduce yourself and tell us about your background.
My name is Saurabh Kumar, and I am the Founder & CEO of SAATHAPPNOVA PRIVATE LIMITED. I come from a small village in Nalanda, Bihar, India. Growing up, I closely observed the challenges faced by local businesses, service providers, and communities in accessing technology and growth opportunities. These experiences inspired me to build solutions that combine innovation, technology, and social impact. My mission is to create scalable systems that empower businesses, generate employment, and improve everyday life through technology.
What inspired you to start SAATHAPP?
The inspiration came from observing how millions of local businesses and service providers struggle to access modern digital tools and larger markets. I wanted to create a platform that connects customers, local businesses, delivery networks, and service professionals in a simple and accessible way. The vision was to build an ecosystem that supports local growth while leveraging modern technology.
What problem does SAATHAPP solve for its customers?
SAATHAPP aims to simplify access to products, services, and local commerce. Customers can connect with nearby businesses and service providers through a single platform, while businesses gain digital visibility and new growth opportunities. Our goal is to bridge the gap between technology and local communities.
What challenges did you face during the early stages of the business?
Like many startups, we faced challenges related to limited resources, building the right team, creating operational systems, and turning a vision into reality. Coming from a non-traditional startup background also meant learning many aspects of entrepreneurship through practical experience. These challenges strengthened our determination and helped us build a stronger foundation.
What makes SAATHAPP different from other companies in the industry?
Our focus goes beyond transactions. We are building a long-term ecosystem designed to support businesses, communities, and future innovation. We prioritize accessibility, local empowerment, operational efficiency, and sustainable growth. Our vision combines hyperlocal commerce with emerging technologies to create solutions that can serve both local and global markets.
What has been your biggest achievement so far?
One of my biggest achievements has been transforming a vision into a structured company with a clear long-term roadmap. Building SAATHAPPNOVA from the ground up while creating systems, governance frameworks, operational plans, and expansion strategies has been a significant milestone.
What lessons have you learned as an entrepreneur?
Entrepreneurship has taught me that resilience, patience, and continuous learning are essential. Success rarely happens overnight. Building a sustainable company requires discipline, adaptability, and a willingness to solve problems every day. Most importantly, strong values and a clear mission help guide decisions during difficult times.
What are your future goals and vision for the company?
Our vision is to build a technology-driven ecosystem that creates opportunities for businesses and communities across India and eventually global markets. Beyond commerce and services, we are investing in future innovations including artificial intelligence, intelligent automation, smart digital infrastructure, advanced operating systems, robotics, autonomous technologies, and next-generation mobility solutions. We aim to create solutions that improve efficiency, accessibility, and quality of life while generating long-term economic and social impact.
What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs?
Start with a meaningful problem and focus on creating real value. Do not wait for perfect conditions. Learn continuously, stay committed to your vision, and be prepared for setbacks. Consistency, integrity, and persistence often matter more than resources in the early stages of a startup.
