Lightfield raises $47M Series A for an AI-native CRM built on continuous customer context
Andreessen Horowitz leads, with Coatue, Greylock and Lightspeed joining a round unusually crowded for a Series A.
Lightfield has raised $47 million in a Series A led by Andreessen Horowitz, with Coatue, Greylock and Lightspeed participating. The company is building an AI-native CRM that maintains continuous customer context rather than relying on manual record entry.
Four well-known funds in one Series A
The investor list is the anomaly. Andreessen Horowitz, Coatue, Greylock and Lightspeed in a single $47 million Series A is a crowded cap table at that stage, and it usually means the round was competitive enough that the company could accommodate several funds rather than choose one.
The premise
Every CRM ever built has the same structural flaw: it is only as good as the data sales representatives bother to enter, and they reliably do not. Decades of product design have gone into making that data entry less painful without fixing the underlying incentive problem.
The AI-native argument is that you stop asking. Calls, emails, meetings and documents already contain the information the CRM wants; the system extracts and maintains it rather than prompting a human to type it in.
Whether that works in practice depends almost entirely on how well it handles the cases where the extracted context is wrong, which is not something a funding announcement can tell you.
